6th annual BrewFest announced

WEST PLAINS, Mo. — Craft brewers, distributors, and area restaurants will highlight the 6th Annual West Plains BrewFest, set for 5:30-8 pm Saturday, March 10 at the West Plains Civic Center arena and exhibit hall.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample craft beers from a wide range of breweries, including Boulevard Brewing of Kansas City; Crown Valley Brewing and Distilling of Ste. Genevieve; Mother’s Brewing and Springfield Brewing of Springfield; Piney River Brewery of Bucyrus; Public House Brewing of Rolla; and Ostermeier Brewing and Wages Brewing of West Plains. Great Rivers Distributing is bringing products from Anheuser-Busch, Deschutes Brewing Co., Estekka Hausci, and O’Fallon Brewing. Grellner Sales Service will feature products from Mike’s, Miller/Coors, Samuel Adams, and Smiroff Ice.

In addition to the craft beers and wines, attendees will enjoy a variety of locally prepared samples from many area restaurants, including 10/40coffee, Auntie Anne’s, Annie’s Hot Dog Cart, Bootleggers BBQ, Colton’s Steakhouse  Grill, Heroes Coffee Café, Hole N The Wall Ranch, Ozark Pizza Company, RJ BBQ and Circle J Mechanical Bull, Roma Italian Restaurant, Roper’s Saloon, Ruby Tuesday’s, Savor Grill, Skillets Family Café, and Sole Café at the Grizzly Lofts. GO FARM Farmers Market members participating include Basil Haven Farms, Brassfield Farms, MawGam’s Goodies, Nature’s Own Garden, The Backyard Gardener, Three Oaks Farm, and Wilmac Sweets.

The 2nd Annual AHA/BJCP sanctioned homebrew competition will be held prior to BrewFest. Several of the homebrewers will also be sampling products during the event as well. For information on the competition, contact Autumn and Josh Shirley at 417-293-5175.

Andy Pearsall of Show-Me Brewing will be available for discussion on homebrew methods and materials.

Admission is $25 per person in advance and $35 at the door. All attendees must be over 21 and have a valid photo ID. Proceeds from the event will benefit the West Plains Council on the Arts, which promotes art events and organizations in West Plains, as well as fund the Gatewood Family Fine Arts Scholarship. The event is being sponsored by the West Plains Council on the Arts, Mulligan’s Package Store, and Great Rivers Distributing of West Plains; Grellner Sales Service of Rolla; and by Piney River Brewing of Bucyrus.

Advanced tickets are now available and can be purchased in West Plains at Wages Brewing, Colton’s Steakhouse, from the West Plains Civic Center box office or Mulligan’s Package Store. In Bucyrus, tickets are available at Piney River Brewery. Credit card phone-in orders can be made through the civic center box office.
