Alleged KitchenAid mixer theft yields felony charge

An Allentown man is facing a felony theft charge in the alleged theft of a $299 KitchenAid mixer from Kohl’s department store.

Charged is Dick Michael Cooper, 40, of the 1900 block of East Pennsylvania Street.

Colonial Regional police responded to the store, 3768 Easton-Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township, at 2 p.m. Friday. A loss prevention officer had detained Cooper.

Police said Cooper had six prior theft convictions in Pennsylvania prior to Friday’s incident. Online court records show Cooper was sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of bail.
