It’s the sale of the year for bargain loving decorators. Upscale home furnishings retailer MacKenzie-Childs will open its doors at its headquarters in the village of Aurora for its barn sale July 20 to 23.

The sale attracts thousands of shoppers every year who wait in long lines. Eager shoppers have camped out overnight to ensure a good spot on opening day.

MacKenzie-Childs is known for its colorful, eclectic patterns in everything from dinnerware to socks. Shoppers will find deals up to 80 percent off the retail price.

Victor resident Paola Billone, 42, plans to make the hour drive to Aurora, Cayuga County, to see if she can find outdoor furnishings at a discount. This will be her first time, but she has friends who have visited the sale, including a friend who camps out.

In addition to the sale on ceramics, enamelware, glassware, furniture, lighting, rugs, holiday and more, there will be food and entertainment.

New food and wine vendors will be at the barn sale and prizes will be given out. Food will be available starting Wednesday at 6 p.m. featuring Jeremiah’s Tavern.

The sale will take place rain or shine 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 20 to 23 at 3260 State Route 90 in Aurora, Cayuga County.
