Dolce & Gabbana’s Smeg Kitchen Appliances Are Here To Help You …

Dolce Gabbana x Smeg Sicily Is My Love Stand Mixer

Fans of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s work know that the duo often pay homage to their Italian heritage—especially that of Sicily—in their lavish clothing and accessories. Now, the designers have brought their elaborate designs to a collection of chic kitchen appliances that, thankfully, are much more affordable than their ready-to-wear.

In collaboration with Italian company Smeg, Dolce Gabbana has brought their beautiful and whimsical sensibilities to a line of juicers, toasters, blenders, stand mixers, espresso machines, and kettles. Dubbed “Sicily Is My Love,” the collection is colorfully patterned with interpretations of Sicilian folklore and motifs such as lemons, prickly pears, and cherries—all fruits that are highly abundant and favored in the Italian region.

This isn’t the first time the two Italian companies have teamed up on a project, however. In fact, this line follows in the footsteps of 100 limited-edition refrigerators that were unveiled at least year’s Salone del Mobile design fair in Milan. Each one-of-a-kind fridge was hand painted by artists of Dolce and Gabbana’s choosing and commanded the steep price of $50,000. Luckily, the new line of appliances comes with a little less sticker shock. Currently available for preorder at Neiman Marcus, the tea kettle, juicer, and toaster are $600 each. The remaining items have yet to hit the market, but will soon be available next month at the fashion retailer as well as Williams Sonoma. Pictures these in your kitchen as you make your breakfast this morning and heavily consider adding these works of art to your home before they all get snatched up (and maybe pick up some of their pasta while you’re at it, too).
