Indoor farmers market marks grand opening in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE — Arley Farms celebrated its grand opening as an indoor farmers market at the Shoppes at Lafayette on Saturday.

The farm, which is located in Green Township and run by two families, specializes in free-range, naturally fed beef, pork and chicken. The meats will be regularly available at the farmers market, as well as produce.

Jon Baker, one of the farm owners, said the farm’s own fruits and vegetables will be available seasonally and in the off-season will be sourced from other small farms from around the country.

Arley Farms also sells homemade jarred sauces and farm fresh eggs, Baker said.

Other highlights in the farmers market are the housewares and kitchen decor and accessories, such as kitchen towels that are farm-themed.

During the holiday season, Arley Farms will have Christmas trees for sale at the Shoppes at Lafayette, with the schedule for sales weather permitting and available on the farm’s Facebook Page.

Arley Farms’ indoor farmers market at the Shoppes at Lafayette is open every day, Sundays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, visit: www.facebook.com/arley.farm/.
