Pressure cookers just keep getting smarter, and these two offerings from Mealthy and Instant Pot are proof. However, while both of these are good options, we’re definitely going to go with Mealthy’s MultiPot because it does pretty much everything you need it to do for a pressure cooker, and it’s a great value with all of the extra accessories that come with it. Sure the Instant Pot is “smart,” but these features might be confusing to some customers, making them superfluous.

Let’s break it down…

For a better overall package, we’re going with the Mealthy MultiPot. It basically does everything that you can do with the Instant Pot Smart Wi-Fi, but you also get more bang for your buck. After all, pressure cooking is all about convenience, and getting some free accessories with your purchase definitely helps make it possible to cook pretty much anything.

While the Instant Pot Smart Wi-Fi is convenient thanks to its ability to connect to your smartphone for remote control, this is best used with the scripts for recipes. However, creating and using those scripts requires a bit of technical knowledge, and if you’re just wanting an easy way to cook some food, it’s not completely necessary. Plus, you still have to be in the kitchen to prep the ingredients and get them into the pot anyway, which is a good time to just push the buttons on the pressure cooker itself. Still, the Smart Wi-Fi is convenient if you just want to get things ready early, and do the actual cooking itself later on while you’re away from the kitchen.

And we all like good bargains and deals, right? Mealthy gives you some incredibly handy accessories at no extra cost, which we love. The silicone sealing rings for any electric pressure cooker wear out over time and through repeated use, so having a spare is always a good idea, and they give you one for free. Instant Pot only gives you one, and then you’ll need to purchase your own when it no longer seals properly. Mealthy even gives you a steaming basket, which is incredibly useful for vegetables and eggs. Again, with Instant Pot, you’re on your own there and need to purchase all of those separately at about $10 each (silicone ring or good quality steamer basket).

There are plenty of accessories you can buy for your Instant Pot, but for the best value and almost everything you’ll need to do all of the cooking, you’re going to want to go with the Mealthy pot. There is also the Mealthy app, which features a ton of recipes for you to try out and they all come with easy-to-follow videos. You can store your favorite recipes for reference later in the app’s Recipe Box view. The app itself doesn’t connect to the pressure cooker, but it’s a great starting point if you want some recipes to try out with your Mealthy MultiPot or even Instant Pot.
