Jennifer’s: Northeast Ohio’s best weekend brunches, breakfasts

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio – Our brunch and breakfast series continues as we check out Jennifer’s in Strongsville. Here’s a look at what to expect:

Location + hours: 8464 Pearl Road, Strongsville, 440-234-2044. It’s just south of W. Sprague Road. Hours: Breakfast is served 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Lunch is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

About the place: Breakfast with a Greek twist. Packed, but the line moved extremely efficiently. Casual, with families and couples dining throughout the space. Pay at the counter.

Menu or buffet? Menu.

Service: Definitely not understaffed on a recent Sunday. Multiple hostesses were working and coordinating the waiting diners, shuffling them in as fast as you could order eggs over easy. Waitresses hustled between tables, and we had lightning-quick service.

Don’t miss: The specials. In addition to an extensive regular menu of more than 50 offerings, 11 dishes were available, including the tempting and alliterative Blueberry Blintzes.

Omelette Central: In addition to skillets, eggs, ‘cakes and waffles, more than a dozen omelette combinations await your perusal, from the basic cheese to more exotic Zorba (fresh spinach and feta cheese). There’s even a deli omelette, with corned beef.

Making French Toast better: French Toast is elevated to a sandwich. Two thick slices of FT held a generous omelette and shaved ham. (We thought “shaved ham” meant small bits, but it turned out to be hearty slices.)

Average Joe: Coffee was OK at best, nothing to write home about.

Home fries: You can tell these are fresh and not some overly pre-seasoned, pre-fabricated cut-up taters out of a bag.

Bonus: Jennifer’s is 5 miles north of SouthPark Mall. The Brew Kettle – brewery, bar, restaurant and brew-on-site place – is directly across the street from Jennifer’s. So: Eat, shop, drink.
