Kitchen Craft, Weymouth have donated £100 to the Dorset Echo Toy Appeal

A Weymouth store is putting everything but the kitchen sink into helping disadvantaged children this festive season.

We are now three weeks into the Dorset Echo Toy Appeal and more and more businesses are getting behind us to make sure every child has a present to open this Christmas morning.

Kitchen Craft is the latest business to spread some festive cheer and donate £100 to the appeal.

Paula Hicks, office manager said: “Kitchen Craft have been trading for the last 30 years and are proud to be taking part in the Dorset Echo Toy Appeal again this year, we have been donating to this worthy cause for the past several years, so that children can have a present to open at Christmas.”

The Toy Appeal is now in it’s 18th year and Kitchen Craft’s donation will be used to buy gifts for children who would otherwise not get a visit from Father Christmas this year.

Established in 1987, Kitchen Craft, found on Cambridge Road in the Granby Industrial Estate ,offers an extensive range of kitchens, bathrooms and accessories.

Individuals can also support the Toy Appeal by donating new toys and gifts to appeal bins found in stores across the county – so keep your eyes peeled.

All toys donated will be collected and distributed, before Christmas, to children who really appreciate them.

Echo promotions manager Debbie Hellaby said: “Without the support of our readers and local businesses we would not be able to help to put smiles on all those families faces at Christmas, so thank you.”

Last year, the Dorset Echo raised more than £4,493 and collected hundreds of toys through the appeal and we are hoping to top that figure this year.

For more information or for any businesses wishing to make a £100 donation contact Debbie Hellaby on 01305 830 815 or email debbie.hellaby@dorsetecho.co.uk.
