The first Lehigh Valley location of a Harrisburg-based restaurant chain is coming to the former Boston’s Restaurant Sports Bar building in Upper Macungie Township.

Arooga’s Grille House Sports Bar, which labels itself an “innovative full-service casual restaurant and bar with a sports and entertainment focus,” is expected to open in the fall at the 327 Star Road site, just south of Interstate 78 and Route 100, according to Keith Swade, Arooga’s director of franchise development.

“We are very excited to be coming to Allentown,” Swade said. “We will be completely remodeling the location and our goal is to be open later this fall.”

Arooga’s, founded in 2008, operates 14 locations in the Northeast and has plans to open six more restaurants in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida in 2017 and 2018, Swade said.
