Bare Bones Butcher

Opened in January 2017
Neighborhood: The Nations

906 51st Ave. N., Nashville, TN 37209 • (615) 730-9808
Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This small butcher shop and grocery brings meat, cheese and fresh produce, as well as olive oil, vinegar and spices to The Nations. Their specialty is in whole-animal butchery, meaning you can take home fresh cuts of grass-fed beef, grain-finished beef, heritage pork, sausages, deli meats, forcemeat stocks and more (all of which are made in-house). Wesley Adams and Patrick Davidson honed their butchery talents at Porter Road Butcher before opening a place of their own. Shop the market to knock everything else off your grocery list. And if you can’t wait to eat, grab a sandwich or cup of chili to enjoy there.

The experts will be more than happy to help you find the perfect cut of meat. Image: Bare Bones Butcher

No one knows knives better than a chef. And it’s likely no one knows knives better than two chefs who between them have graced the kitchens of acclaimed restaurants, including French Laundry, Restaurant August, Chateau de Montcaud, Benu and Townhouse Restaurant. Jacqueline Blanchard and Brandt Cox founded Coutelier in New Orleans in 2015 to provide the culinary community with the proper tools: hand-forged steel knives. Jacqueline’s travels to Japan introduced her to cutlery with an unrivaled quality and craftsmanship. The pair made their way to Nashville earlier this year to open the store’s second location in East Nashville. At Coutelier, you will find hand-forged knives sourced from artisans around the world, as well as a curated selection of kitchen tools and accessories. You don’t have to be a professional chef to shop here!
