Open house planned for Sunday at 3430 Whitehaven place

At 3430 Westhaven Place, the new custom-built dwelling features four bedrooms and 2 1/2 half baths. The house has much to offer prospective homeowners within its 2,550 square feet. It was built to be low maintenance and comfortable.

Built by Dean Custom Homes, LLC, the dwelling was built from a Frank Betz plan.

It has a multigabled roofline and exterior façade of brick, stacked stone and Hardie board. Carriage-styled doors on the two-car garage add to the curb appeal. Brick steps lead to an entrance featuring double-doors with opaque decorative-glass panels and a clerestory topper.

The two-story foyer has a chandelier framed by an arched window to provide natural as well as artificial light to the hallway. Running throughout the main level is beautiful ¾-inch red-oak flooring.

The main level features an open floor plan with a great room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, master bath and master bedroom, as well as a powder room.

The formal dining room is separate, yet easily accessible from both the great room and kitchen.

The kitchen has plenty of custom-built, white-colored cabinetry, Whirlpool range, microwave and dishwasher. One of the highlights of the cabinets is the appliance garage with electrical receptacle hidden inside. The countertops are black granite. Inset lighting has been used in the room.

Chad Dean, builder, noted the structure is a Kohler house. It offers the latest innovations in Kohler plumbing, vanities, tubs, sinks and accessories. The kitchen double sinks are deep with a pull-down faucet. Stools are tucked under a bar feature on the sink island.

There is a breakfast area adjoining the kitchen with plenty of windows and two doors. One door leads to a covered porch, which would be perfect for entertaining. The other door leads to the back yard. Both of the exterior doors feature in-window blinds.

Adjoining the kitchen is the laundry room, which features a wash sink and plenty of upper cabinets. Besides room for the washer and driver, there is room for a folding table. The flooring is a marble-looking ceramic tile.

The great room features a cathedral ceiling with fan/light fixture. The focus of the room is a brick fireplace. Windows on either side of the fireplace flood the room with natural light.

The master bedroom features three windows and a double-trey ceiling with fan/light fixture and inset sidelights. Adjoining the bedroom is the master bathroom with a large jetted tub, glass-enclosed walk-in shower and separate toilet room. The double vanity features the same custom cabinetry as the kitchen and is highlighted with two framed mirrors. The flooring is ceramic tile with the look of marble. The large walk-in closet features a single window looking over the front yard.

A combination of red oak and wrought-iron newel posts and balusters lead the stairway up to three more bedrooms and a bathroom. Gray carpeting has been selected for the flooring upstairs.

All of the bedrooms feature plenty of closet space — two have walk-in closets. One of the bedrooms has an under-the-roofline area, which would be perfect for storing holiday or seasonal items. The center bedroom room follows the contours of the roofline for an extra large room, which might be used for a bonus area.

The upstairs bathroom again features Kohler fixtures — double-vanity sinks and shower-tub combination — as well as ceramic tiling and framed mirrors.

Dean said all the lighting in the house is from Lowe’s Cabinet and Lighting Center. He acquired the Kohler items from Ferguson.

The yard will not require much maintenance. It features installed sod and landscaped bushes with rain irrigation to help keep it well watered.

The dwelling has central heat and cooling.

The Westhaven Place neighborhood features underground utilities, sidewalks and streetlights.

Situated close to shopping areas and main transportation routes, the house is priced at $315,00.

Jim and Philomena Davis of Crye-Leike will be showing the residence in an open house Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.
