Savor Summer at The Hill this Season – Ephrata Review

With all the fresh flavors of summer, you’ll want to head over to The Hill to savor them.

The deck is open at The Hill and it’s one of the best spots to hang out with friends on warm summer nights and days. You can enjoy al fresco dining with an icy cold beer, summery cocktail, glass of wine or fine spirits like whiskey or bourbon. The menu has all your summertime favorites, including great appetizers, burgers, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

Speaking of food, The Hill has taken a fresh new approach to its great menu. There are lots of fresh, local ingredients, more salads and hearty grilled dishes with meats and seafood. There are great dinner salads like the On the Farm chicken salad with cranberries, goat cheese and roasted nuts, the Taco Chopped Salad with all your favorite southwestern ingredients and the classic Greek salad with olives and feta.

The flavors of The Hill are more fun than ever, including the Open Faced Roast Beef with prime rib and gravy fries, the Cod Po’ Boy hoagie with cole slaw, tomatoes and Swiss, and the Pork Tacos with Spanish rice and guacamole and the Spanish rice bowl. Classic Hill favorites include Mr. Tran’s Famous Vietnamese Spring Rolls, the Mush burger smothered with mushrooms and cheese, the crab cake sandwich, the Thai Noodle Bowl and homemade deep-dish Chicago-style pizzas.

When you’re sitting outside on the deck, there is no better place to enjoy a delicious Margarita made with tequila. Choose a classic Margarita in refreshing lime, or something sweeter like strawberry or other tropical flavors. Tequila is a specialty at The Hill, where they are famous for their premium tequilas.

“Fine tequilas are much like fine scotch, made for sipping and savoring. Some are smooth, others might be aged in oak barrels for richness,” says owner Jon Speros, adding that The Hill offers a wide selection of super premium tequilas, as well as a selection of fine scotches, whiskeys and bourbons too.

One of the biggest hits at The Hill are the tasty macaroni and cheese skillets that take mac cheese to a whole new level. These skillet macaroni and cheese entrees are baked in a cast iron skillet so that they are all melted and topped with your favorite extras. There’s the All-American with mini grilled Angus burgers, bacon and gravy. The Santa Fe is a wonderful fiesta with blackened chicken, black bean corn salsa, jalapeños and salsa ranch. The Memphis has pulled pork, slaw and barbecue sauce, while the Down by the Sea is like a trip to the shore, with crab, shrimp, mozzarella and tomatoes.

The Hill has Monday Trivia and Tuesday karaoke, with a 12-spout tap system to offer more beer choices, including a rotating craft beer tap. Hours are Monday through Saturday 11 a.m.- 2:30 a.m., and closed on Sunday. To find out more or to schedule a special event, call 733-6331. Be sure to check the website at
