Scientists have identified a hidden deadly danger of pots and pans

Microscopic particles in nonstick cookware and waterproof clothing that can get into human organism together with food and can cause cancer.

Agency for environmental protection in Washington published a report, according to which microscopic particles in a non-stick cookware, waterproof clothing and Panasonic carpets can get into human body with food and can cause cancer. On it informs edition Daily Mail, reports

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) is used for the production of Teflon, as well as fireproof, moisture resistant and dirt resistant materials. However, this substance has toxic and carcinogenic properties. It is shown that in laboratory animals it increases the risk of developing tumors of the liver, pancreas and genital organs, and also contributes to infertility.

In addition, PFOA causes hormonal changes, disorders of the thyroid gland and inflammation of the intestine.

A person can be exposed to perfluorooctanoic acid in overheating or damage to the pans or pans with non-stick coating.

Thrown away utensils with Teflon is also a danger to the environment as PFOA can be leached into the soil and to penetrate into fresh water.
