SiouxFalls.Business Report: March 13, 2018

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (SIOUXFALLS.BUSINESS) – Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business stopped by the KSFY Studio to discuss the latest business news:

There is a new option for downtown dining.

Myers’ Deli More has opened inside the Carpenter Building on Phillips Avenue. Owner Dan Myers also owns a catering business and is an award-winning chef.

The menu includes hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, salads, a salad bar, hot dogs, a coffee bar and a beer/wine bar, plus a mini marketplace that will be adding grab-and-go meals and has dairy products from Stensland Family Farms.

The plan is to add dinner service in a few weeks, and they will be open for St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef and cabbage and green beer.

It is another big week for Lake Lorraine as national shoe retailer DSW opens this Thursday.

That will be followed later this spring by home décor store Kirklands, and this summer by sandwich shop Capriotti’s.

And there is more retail being recruited now for later this year and next. It is all leading to some good news for nearby retail center, which are filling up fast with new businesses opening this month.

Brushy Creek Gifts has opened on Marion Road north of Lake Lorraine selling a variety of gift items, kitchen accessories and handmade items.

When the owner started looking for space last year, there were a fair amount of options in the area. Now, his retail center is full for the first time in years.

Elsewhere along Marion Road, in another filling retail center, Cuong Strong Personal Training opens next week, offering a 24-hour gym that centers around fitness and nutrition training.
