Take Winterfest liberties with 12 Days of Christmas

Winterfest is this weekend and with a bevy of regional craftsmen and artisans scheduled to be on hand, chances are good that attendees can check a number of items off their holiday gift and wish lists.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Aberdeen Civic Arena. Admission is free.

Here’s an abbreviated jingle to help you get in the spirit. Written to the tune of “The 12 Days of Christmas.”

In the 12 hours of Winterfest, my tasks laid out for me:

• 12 gift list items.

• 11 Aberdeen artisans.

• 10 jams and jellies.

• Nine dolls and dresses.

• Eight bags and blankets.

• Seven decor designers.

• Six talented toymakers.

• Five concessions options.

• Four found-art finds.

• Three potters’ treasures.

• Two stained-glass artists.

• And one wonderful Winterfest weekend for the books.
