This Kitchen Gadget Makes Even the Simplest Meal Taste Way Better

Instead of boiling yet another box of pasta, my husband and I now regularly whip out our Spiralizer and turn zucchini into curly strands of vegetable noodles (or “zoodles” in some circles) in less time than it takes a pot of water to boil. One large zucchini yields enough zoodles for a substantial serving. Once you’ve turned your zucchini into spaghetti, you can either steam it, boil it, or pan fry it in a little olive oil to get the desired texture for your favorite “pasta” recipe.

Zucchini Noodles with Pesto Shrimp Chickpeas:

Since the Spiralizer has joined the ranks of our favorite kitchen gadgets, we’ve used it for more than just low-carb pasta nights. We regularly put sweet potatoes on the spike and flip the switch to churn out curly fries. Bake them in the oven with a drizzle of olive oil and some salt and pepper on burger night.

There are four blades in total, which means endless options for peeling, slicing, and spiralizing a variety of fruits and vegetables. I’m sure I haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s possible with this device, but that just means there are more healthy variations on my favorite foods out there. And I can’t wait to discover them.
