Used home furnishing at ReStores – North Jersey

Sometimes we just want to give our homes a refresh with new furniture, accessories or a quick redo of a kitchen or bath.  For those of us on a budget, ReStores offer gently used appliances, furniture, home accessories and building materials to the public at a fraction of the retail price.

Proceeds from ReStores, which are part of Habitat for Humanity, help build, rehabilitate and repair homes in Bergen County.

“Everything is priced to sell,” says Jacey Raimondo, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County. “We are not in the business of keeping items on the floor.  The goal is to get as much in and out as quickly as possible, so the inventory is constantly changing.”

According to Raimondo, it is not unusual for someone to donate a houseful of furniture.  Or, if renovating a kitchen, they might donate a full set of cabinets.

There are also special sales days.  “Tuesdays some inventory is marked down from 25 to 50 percent,” she says.  “Veterans automatically get a 10-percent discount every day of the week and we also offer Senior discount days.”
