Warehouse loft mixes vintage and modern in Ohio City: Cleveland’s coolest Airbnbs

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Once home to the West Side Carpet Cleaning Building, this second-floor Airbnb space is in the heart of Ohio City. With wood floors and brick walls, “The Forty-O-Five” warehouse-chic loft with high ceilings is open and airy with trendy rustic touches and chic accessories.

Whimsical elements add extra charm – like a ladder spanning a built-in wall bookshelf. A chandelier hangs overhead; vintage photos line the living room walls. A long communal dining table and kitchen bar seating makes for easy gathering. For warmer weather days, it includes an enclosed patio with a small pond.

Wooden furniture and rich hues contrast crisp, white bedroom and kitchen shelving. Colorful accessories add a pop of brightness, marrying the old and new with modern style.

Want to continue the vibe of this Airbnb? Go shopping for vintage goods at the local All Things for You and Articles shop. Stroll through the West Side Market, and ascend to the balcony to look out over the rich architecture. Dine at the rustic-meets-modern Black Pig. Have drinks at the sleek Plum Cafe. Take in art at the Transformer Station and SPACES Gallery.

Amenities include: Complimentary fruit, bagels, croissants, muffins, orange juice, bottled water and a variety of coffees, WiFi, cable TV, air conditioning, heating, kitchen

Parking: Street and bike parking

Cost: $167

Host Don’s picks: 3 places every Cleveland visitor should experience

Sports. During baseball season, I always have people coming from all over the USA and Canada to attend an Indians game. Just as during football season, many come from as far as California to attend a Browns game.

Ohio City. A large majority come simply to enjoy the sights, sounds, food and brew right here in Ohio City. Among the most popular restaurants are Momocho and Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Rock and roll. The most popular site my guests have visited is the Rock Roll Hall of Fame.

This regular series looks at some of the most unique Airbnbs around Northeast Ohio, and all the places Cleveland tourists should check out. For consideration to be featured, please email Nikki Delamotte at
